Spearmint oil is distilled from Mentha spicata (Mentha viridis) of the family Labiates and as well called standard or garden spearmint and spire, greenish, pea and fish mint.  Spearmint oil can be efficient as the gastrointestinal system, for the respiratory tract, for a tired head and for diseases of the skin.  Mentha spicata oil is applied for flavoring chew gums, toothpastes, candys and pharmaceutic preparations.  Spearmint oil owes its marvelous odor to carvone, dihydrocarvone, pulegone, menthone, 1,8 cineol and beta-pentene.  Spearmint oil might assist the nervous, respiratory, and glandular systems.
